Meerkat's WIP...update 29.01.2011

Post by meerkat »

I have been stitching my Tiger on and off since March 2008 It is for my younger son, originally a uni.graduation present, which was nearly a year ago,and last Sept. he also started his full time job  I am determined to get it done, I love stitching on it, but afew exchanges, eslewhere, I joined in with recently had to have priority ..my first try at exchanges.. which I thoroughly enjoyed.
So, it's me and my Tiger now and a little Biscornu I have just started, with dragon floss and a DMC lavender scented thread, which I have never used, for abit of a change.

The colours for the biscornu look scrumptious, and the tiger is so impressive!

this is my first go at a Dimensions project, I was  at the blue and red chart at first, then I enlarged it in portions, for the health of my eyes, and to mark the stitches off and decided to stitch it in blocks, which I did, sucessfully, with my Janlynn Tiger (in my Webshots..getting my gallery sorted, I messed it up  ) after much stopping and starting, I found stitching by going with the flow of the colours far easier and more interesting. It is quite time consuming though because of the blended colours half cross stitch some in 5 strands etc but I have found it is getting easier and the symbols are familiar now, just have to be careful that I haven't missed any lines of stitching when I enlarge parts of the chart!!!or my tiger will be very unique and odd looking  Hope you will take the plunge with yours soon :)

Love the Tiger! Will enjoy watching you stitch that. I do love the tiger designs, although I've never done one myself yet.
Looking forward to seeing what you think of the lavendar scented thread as well. :)

I have had a good day today stitching my Tiger, I didn't want to stop but my eyes got tired.
But had abit of a mishap with my hearts for my Biscornu..I mis-counted and the hearts are two stitches smaller each side of the heart than they should be. I only realised when I came to stitch the blackwork  They still look fine so I am doing my own thing with those four and they will be the bottom of the Biscornu, so the top will have the hearts with the correct number of stitches  and the blackwork stitches.

They are both looking very good. I have the same tiger in my stash to do, but really must get my others finished first. Keep up the good work, and don't forget to keep us updated with pics!
