What kind of designs should I pick being a starter???

Not sure whethter you are looking at kits or just charts but personally first I would choose something that you really like as you will want to stitch it then, secondly I would choose something not too big possibly card size so you get a finished picture fairly quickly

If possible find something with not too many colours (you will want a few or you might get bored) and if possible only full crosses not fractionals. I would also start with 14 count aida as well.

If you have a cross stitch magazine there are usually some card size projects in there and also helpful tips.

However I do know some people who for their first project have chosen something quite hard because they love it and with perseverance and patiance have completed it.

If you look in the Tips and Tricks section you will see a post "Suggestions for Beginners. That might give you some ideas.
