Gridding using washable fabric pen on hand-dyed fabric?

Post by alinna »

A friend wants to buy me some hand-dyed fabric for a future project. Would I be able to grid using my water soluble ink pen and then wash it out, or would it be safer to grid using thread?

y'know, I'm curious about this myself, I've got a project I'm about to start, the problem I'm worried about is the fact the pen is the same colour as the fabric

Hopefully someone can help you with hand dyed fabrics. I have some but haven't tried them yet.

I know that the craft store by me sells a couple of different colors of pens--one for light colors and one for dark colors. Might be worth checking into.
