Lizzie Kate Christmas by the letter double flip SAL

Post by silviaciuchi »

OK, I know I'm a major troubleseeker because for every project I finish there are three I've started, but I just can't resist putting my needle through virgin fabric and trying on new designs, new threads and new techniques, so here's to Lizzie Kate,'s Christmas 2009 Double Flip series, of which I purchased the first 2 booklets (the other 2 are yet to be released).
My Weeks Dye Works threads arrived yesterday and they're begging me to start this lovely Christmas piece in the middle of the hottest July!

They look just lovely!! I keep NOT buying anything LK, bc I know it's only going to lead down a dangerous dangerous path, but very first on my wishlist is this....I can't wait to see how your X-mas stitching comes along!

ok. it looks like i'm really going to have to start looking online and expanding my thread purchases beyond plain vanilla dmc. these threads are gorgeous. they look like they have a slight sheen to them.

OK, here's my SAL today:

You may smile at my quirky stitching pattern, it's just that I can't wait to use every new colour so I just progress on different areas at the same time.

It's a nice stitch, although the fabric is not very soft and maybe a bit too clear.

I can quite understand wanting to try out all the threads as soon as possible :-), and your progress is great with it!

What do you mean by the fabric being too clear? (and what fabric are you using?)

Sorry, I used the wrong word, I was meaning too light because the white floss doesn't stand out, it's a linen

I like this it is great for Christmas. I think the color of the material is great for the look and the white shows fine.
