I have now started Gold Dimensions Peaceful Evening Christmas stocking for my son, this is what I have done over the weekend.
I also want to stitch Sleigh Ride at Dusk for his girlfriend. You will possibly think I am mad but I wanted to try and work out how long they will take me to stitch, so this is what I have come up with
The 2 stockings together have approx 500 squares (10x10) I therefore need to stitch an average of 5 squares a day for the next 100 days (this will bring me towards the end of November) I will then have a little time to spare to get the backstitching done and also ask my cousin if she will stitch them up for me. Some of the squares are not full squares and also quite a bit of the background is half stitch.
I then have a volkswagon beetle to stitch as a Christmas present for one of my other sons
I will try to update the stocking once a week but I think you will all need to me to get it all done

Wow! You did all that in just one weekend? Way to go! If you keep up that pace, you'll have it all finished in no time at all. It's such a gorgeous design - I'll look forward to seeing your progress.
This is lovely and I hope you can keep on target!
I've never been 'synchronised' enough to stitch anything Christmassy - wouldn't want to work on it during summer/autumn when you'd really need to to get something of any size done in time, and I'm not that good at meeting stitching deadlines anyway!
That's a lovely design. Is the dark material hard to work with?

Hoping it's not Christmas already - haven't done any shopping yet

Lessa54 I do find it slightly more difficult working on dark aida but during the day it is just a matter of holding it up slightly or putting something white like a towel on your lap so you can see the holes better and in the evening using a lamp but it's not really a problem
Burgundyice Most of my stitching is for deadlines eg wedding and baby samplers, birthday presents etc.
I am really enjoying this and so far I am about on target but I won't get any done tomorrow as hubby and me are going out for the day to Trentham Gardens
I have recently found that setting myself targets of doing a certain amount each day really spurs me on
This is looking gorgeous. I have a few stocking kits ion my stash to so, but i fear i may not get round to doing them til the kids are all grown up! and I haven't had the first one yet! lol
