I have a small dragon that I want to put on a wooden box for my husband. I have seen boxes that have rick-rack around the edges of the cross stitch and then have it centered on the lid, but my piece is just about the same size as the box.
Do I just glue the fabric on the box lid? Do I glue it on something else then the box lid?
Has anyone done this before with a wooden box or even an altoid tin that could give me some guidance?
How to mount xstitch on a box?

yes, I do it. Have a look in my gallery, there is one country companions.
I put iron on wadding underneath the cross stitch. then I glue it to the box and put an edge like ribbon in the one shown.
If you post a picture of the box so I can get an idea, I'll be able to explain more.
Because the picture is the same size as the lid you may hsve to edge it.
BTW, what colour is the box?

Barb, thanks. I'll post pictures of it tomorrow. I havent cut the design out of the large piece of fabric yet. I didnt want to do that until it was time to attach it. The box is stained Walnut I believe. It's a darker brown.
