Marine Corp Emblem chart

Post by ramchaza »

My son is a 19 year old Marine, soon to be deployed. I'm looking for a chart for the Marine Corp emblem or the Marine Corp Eagle Globe and Amchor. I've seen them for sale but thought I'd try here to see if anyone has a freebie! Thanks,
Theresa

I'm sorry I can't help either, like Whiskers said Rose might have one. Good luck!

You could try giving her a PM, either look for one of her posts, or go to the memberlist and you can click on PM. She is usually on very regularly but has her son visiting from Iraq at the moment so is obviously spending her time with him. She should be back on the forum again soon though!

Welcome to the board I have sent you a PM and in it is the same site as Serinde has posted here.

For others that may be looking for military charts they are a copyright protected emblem so freebies that you find will be illegal and I would be careful of the site they are on.

http://www.123stitch.com/cgi-bin/abcSearch/search.cgi this is a good site for many different charts.

Thanks for the info, I had no idea. How can individuals sell them on Ebay? Guess the same way they sell bootleg DVDs!

As long as the individual is selling an original pattern and not making any copies then they can sell without any problems to the copyright law.

The ones you have to be very careful of and this applies to any pattern is the computer generated design. If it is a copyright design ie...Disney, Marvel Comic, Barbie any of these if the design is sold as a computer generated pattern then it is not a legal product and should be avoided. Way back when I was not so familiar with the copyright issue I did buy a pattern like this and then a couple months later was contacted about the purchase. Since then I have read each post very carefully and don't buy from some of the sellers. I have noticed that e-bay has cracked down on some of the more obvious infractions but they can't catch them all.
