Legs for Q-Snaps?

Post by carolynbb »

Sorry if this has been discussed; the search function and I aren't getting along today.

I'm currently using a lap scroll frame for my wedding photo project, kind of like this:

I'd like something similar to use with my 11x11 Q-Snap. Do they make "lap stand legs" for Q-Snap? I only see the floor model for larger quilting projects.

Thanks!

No, they don't but wish they did. Might have to visit a plumbing/electrical PVC section and see if parts are available. Me thinks there might be. I have the floor model for when I quilt. It's bigger pipe.

I quite fancy trying one, it looks handy.

Threadbear--I just told DH next time we are at a plumbing/electrical shop I will check as to what is available. I have lots of pipes. All I would need is the angle joiner. Also if I speak with my son about he may be able to tell me exactly where to find it or how we can manufacture something that will give me the bend. He's pretty handy at things like that.

I have been working to try and make a stand from plumbing pipes but so far the angles are wrong for what I have tried. Still trying to figure out what I can make work so if I ever get it figured out I will share my idea.

The link that was put up only works with the english version of the q-snap as the ones in the US are connected differently. :(

Oh that's shame, I didn't realise they connected differently.
I was just looking at it again. It's not cheap is it. http://www.craftframes.fsnet.co.uk/" target="_blank
Think I'll just have to carry on for awhile longer yet using my stomach and the cupboard to prop my frame on an angle as I stitch!

The floor model is from far bigger pipes than the lap frames. I have all of it. Even the floor one, unless you want to spend another big pile of money, has no angles for easy stitching. It is flat like a table top. Still thinking but haven't gone out looking for anything that might make a stand.

Yes i have that whole set-up but it is for quilting and as Granny said it is much larger then the cross stitch frames.

Hubby and I have talked about a stand for mine and he said he knows how to make it work os on Sunday we will go to the local hardware store and try to get all the parts and see if we can make one work.

Will let you know how it turns out. :)
