MaeMae's stitching thread.

Post by stitchingmae »

So I liked K1ns idea of having a sort of blog thread thingy gonna try it and see what happens. I talked to my new friend angel and she said I should place it in the SAL area.
So Im going to use this sort of like a stitching blog? Hope that is okay. If not just let me know and I will delete lol :)

I am really excited my hubby graduated early he has been going to school for the last two years for an Xray tech degree and he had his last four hours of clinical today!!

We are going tomorrow to Tennessee to so that he can locate where he needs to go to take his registry (licensure) test. I am already scooping out craftstores in that town.. My hubby just rolled his eyes!! And said...whatever...we'll have time to poke around in town if you want...he just feed my addiction :)

here is the small project I am working on for my sister. Its a daisy. My mom's favorite flower were daisies and that now has become mine and my sisters so anytime I see a daisy i think of my mom and sister..my sister says that it is the same for her. So I thought she could put this at her desk at work so that when she sees it she can think of both our mom and of course her little sister :)

Image

It has been sorta slow go due to work but hope to finish it soon!!

A craft store is pretty essential in all relocating decisions..
That is such a cute design! It's small so it won't over power her desk, but give it enough color to make her smile every so often

Well went today and there were no craft stores  only the same stores I have near me anyways no little gems of a store that just jump out at you with cross stitching stuff apparently scrap booking and jewelry making are the big in things now...I am not creative enough to do either. I told my hubby today I was quitting my job and opening a cross stitch only store...he laughed at me and said that I would keep all the stock and we would not make any money. So I guess that meant NO. He's right though @rotfl:

So now since I went with him today and we "magically" happened upon a guitar store he said that he would go with me to the store that is in a southern city here in GA its about 1 1/2 hours away...so that I can browse and this is a CROSS STITCH store not just any ole craft store

I am sorta nervous I have never been much of an online shopper, but apparently with CS you have to get a lot of stuff online. So I dove into the world of paypal today...very very nervous...that I will spend more money online haha.

BTW found out today that gas stations put a $75.00 hold on your cards when you pay at pump even if you only get $10 worth of gas...then once you've left....and they see how much you actually buy they only take out that amount....but still...thats a $75 dollar hold...that looks like its coming out of your account had a fit when I logged onto my account thought the clerk was stealing LOL.

I am about to CS some more on my daisy design it is an easy design I just find myself working on it at night...and have been tired lately to work on it a whole lot...so it is still slow go.

Gonna sleep a little earlier tonight so I am rested up for my stashing excursion.

Oooooh I love your design, it's perfect for sitting on your sisters desk! I'm sure that once you shake off your tiredness you will get through it in no time at all.

And wow, I'd have gone absolutely nuts on the clerk. I would probably have driven back there to file a complaint :P I suggest paying cash in future. Bad them.

I have an online craft store. I thought I'd keep all my stock for myself, but so long as there's that much stash in my house, I don't really much need to keep it. If I like any of the stuff myself, I open it and start stitching it, but on the whole I can sell it all.

Went today to that craft store and loved it!!!! Some of the patterns I wanted she is having to order for me. But I got a new book, so that I can hopefully learn some new stitching. :x:

I hope that I can learn this. It seems VERY pretty!!

I also got my first linen fabric to try stitching on so hope it works out!!

Going to work on my stitching the next two days. Yay!

Love the daisy design and you are doing well with it and not much further to finish it either.

I am sure you have had a wonderful time in the CS only store - how I wish I had one near me - on second thoughts better not. I have enough trouble with the regular craft catalogue which is mainly CS coming into my mail box without a store nearby as well.

There are a couple of Hardanger pros on here so if you need extra help with it, you can always ask on here and I'm sure they'll help. I would love to learn Hardanger...but I'm afraid of it. The name alone makes it sound so incredibly formidable!

As for linen...I love it, but the holes are very uneven which can be daunting at first. My best advice is to do a very small design before doing a project and never to backstitch 1 over 1!

Finished my daisy/butterfly project  all I have to do is put it on the hanger and get it ready to mail. Here is a pic :)

Image

And then I have already separated and labeled my thread for my next WIP also for my sister. Oddly enough when I was worrying about how to get her exact address without her questioning she called me and asked me for a copy of a cd that we put together for my aunts funeral music...they aren't all sad depressing songs somes are songs that just reminded us of her. So anyways I had an excuse to get the addy...and...she will be expecting a package from me...but will get some bonus surprises. Yay I am excited. Here is a pic of the next project I am doing.

The daisy is so gorgeous nad just love the sampler one. Lots of fun to stitch too and will not take up a lot of time.

Great work and good too that your sister had to give you her exact address. Wouldn't it be grand to be a fly on the wall when she opens the package!!!
