Re: Motorcycle trip photo -- birthday present! (Frame done 6

Post by carolynbb »

OK, my last project that I'm starting until one of my current ones is done.

One of my good friend's birthday is in late June. In 2004, the two of us and her husband rode our motorcycles to Alaska for three weeks, which was an absolutely wonderful trip.

So, for her birthday, I've decided to stitch this photo of Stephanie on her Triumph Legend somewhere between Anchorage and Tok, Alaska.

Image

I cropped the photo a little and Photoshopped out the street signs in the background.

I'll be rotating this with the "Cats!" project, probably doing Cats! the first two weeks of the month and this the second two weeks. We'll see what pattern I fall into.

It'll be 5x7 when complete, 18ct Aida, 2 over 1.

I recognize that Mountain shot. My oldest sister lives in Anchorage and my daughter and I went up to visit a couple years ago it is gorgeous up there, we loved it but would not like to make it a permanant home as the light all day round really screwed me up. Then in the winter dark all the time. I would really be a mess.

I definitely had that problem! We were there over summer solstice, so it was light almost 24 hours a day for the 3 or 4 days we were in Fairbanks. We were hanging towels over the window curtains and shoving clothes along the windowsills etc just trying to make it dark enough to sleep in the hotel room!

Not much to show yet, but I wanted to prove I started it. ;)

I'm starting on the bike down at the bottom of the photo.
