Raven frogs around!

Post by Raven »

I was going through my copies of The Gift Of Stitching E-zine and came across these two small charts. They are from tissue #6 (July 2006) and are by Jessica Willis Burr from Six Strand Sweets. As soon as I saw them I wanted to stitch them. I am going to make them into a small hanging pillow with this one on one side and the second one on the other side. I didn't get too far because I started at 9:00PM but I hope to finish it tomorrow.

This pic shows the fabric color really well. It is called Irish Fields and is 28ct jazlyn from Enchanting Lair.

This one shows the green of the frog and the variegated thread a bit better, though not perfectly.

This chart has a frog on the right, eyes looking upwards at a small bee buzzing overhead. The words on the left say "Frog Frog Go Away" on 1st line and "(Go ruin someone else's day)" on the second line. I just thought it was adorable and funny and would make a perfect little hanging pillow near my stitching chair.

The second version has the same frog and bee, but the words say "Count Thrice Never Frog". I am expecting to get the first one finished tomorrow, it really is small and I can't keep my mind on either of my other wips because it keeps wanting to stitch the frogs. So I figured I better stitch them so I can go back to the Quaker or Santa with a clear mind (yeah right, my mind is never clear  ) @rotfl:

Lovely!

I had to admit, when reading your post I thought it was just a 'froggy' project, I didn't realise till you explained further that it's to do with the :anotherfrog: frog that visits us while stitching!!!
I wonder who invented the term, as along with this and the 'I stitch therefore I stash', I'm becoming convinced that phrases from the forum are infiltrating into stitchy magazines!!!

This is a great idea! If you appease the frogs maybe they'll stop visiting

I am not sure who the first person was to start saying "Frogging" for stitch ripping, but I am pretty sure it started on the internet. It had to do with how "ribbit ribbit" sounds similar to "rip it rip it".

I saw the chart and just thought it was perfect, mostly because I've actually sung that little ditty while stitching when I realize I have to pull some out. LOL

I haven't done any more because the cold I've been fighting for the last couple of weeks, and I thought I was over it, came back with a vengeance. So I'm off to the doctor tomorrow to see if its time for an antibiotic. I just can't stitch with the sinus pain and this project requires using my hubby's reading glasses so I can see the fabric clear enough.

Thank you all!
