Sarah's "Sarah" the Horse FRAMED!!

Post by Sarah Gixxer »

I decided to have another new start before I continue with my rotation. This is a chart Simon bought me for Valentine's Day which I haven't got round to starting yet. I had already bought the fabric - some horrible black 28 count linen for some bizarre reason because it's horrible to work with. Even with pale cloth underneath and light shining over the top you can't see the holes! Ah well, I will make slow progress, but persevere anyway.

Here's the chart - I put a pic of it in an old post ages ago so some of you might remember it.

She's very beautiful :) I don't envy you working on the black, but it should look really effective. The 'white fabric' version on of picture looks like it's actually on hand-dyed fabric (which is a bit sneaky of them!), or is there more of a background to stitch if you're doing that one?

Good luck with the black! It'll look stunning when done though.

I can see why you wanted to do this one dark fabric... It will make the flowers and the detail of the horse pop our more...

 what a stunning design---think it will work up nicely on the black but do NOT envy you doing it--also does look like the lighter version is on a hand dyed type of fabric, which would look quick stunning as well

The lighter version is on Watercress hand dyed Jobelan according to the chart. I like it, but I preferred the black.

Anyway, here's my first picture. The chart is divided into 8 pages, some with more on than others! This is the top left page, already complete, but there was hardly anything to do. There are loads of colour changes, loads of fractional stitches and also lots of backstitch, but I'm leaving that until last.

I love the design but I'm worried you're turning into a serial starter. I welcome you to the S.S.C. (serial starter club). I think I'm Vice President of something.

I am sure you will persevere because it is stunning on that black. :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce:

Don't worry, Pengwenn, with our Sarah's speed she is not only a serial starter but she actually finishes her projects!
