So sorry to hear this - you must be so so sad - the shock is horrid as well. They may be little people, but they have such characters and such soul.

Cross stitching a picture would be lovely - I have a whole lot of tail hair from my beloved old pony who was pts 3 years ago - and I've not yet managed to do something with it that I feel gives me that comfort - it just hangs above my bed right now. I hadn't thought of cross stitching a photo of him - its a great idea.

I'm also sorry to hear about you losing your pet. They're so much a part of our lives.

Another option for a design is http://www.crosstitch.com" target="_blank. They do very good work.

What beautiful photos! I for one certainly don't mind you "spamming" us with them. I think they're brilliant and they really show his character!

Have you thought about making a horse hair bracelet? One of my friends at school had a horsehair bracelet from her horse. I think she cut the tail to enter him in a show or something, but she had a lot of his hair for some reason and she made it into a bracelet to mark the occassion (totally not a horse person and no idea why you'd cut a horses hair) anyway, this bracelet remained on her wrist the entire length of highschool, and throughout college. Don't know it it's broken or still going now, I haven't spoken to her in years, but I do know it lasted for a long time with every day use.
