Re: 2018 Deliveries & Stash Acquisitions

Lovely to have so many needles but agree with others, the small size of the eye in petite needle. Good luck with threading it :D

Thanks or remarks about the cute owls on knitting needle bag. Have done cute owl cards as well as cute snowmen cards in the past. Don't seem to have the incentive to do ...

Re: OT: Who is the Book Fairy?

I wondered if others had the same experience. Forgot to add the note was signed Book Fairy. It does add a little something to the day, doesn't it? :)

The book DH found is probably not one I would have chosen but I will read it before leaving it for someone else to find.

Wow, this is really very exquisite, a marvellous picture & amazingly stitched. I agree with Poppy, will look great where you intend putting this.

Thank you for sharing this as it is truly amazing. Cannot wait for next update.

Re: Lakeside 15/09

Thanks for kind reply Mabel. I never did think you were forceful with the point you made. DH often tells me the same thing. To appreciate what I have done & not concentrate on any mistakes there may be.

This must go back to when I was a teenager & everything had to be absolutely just right. Used to ...

OT: Who is the Book Fairy?

Lovely thing happened today. DH took neighbour's dog out to local park & there on a bench was a book in a zipped food bag with a note inside.

The note asked whoever found the book to read it & then pass it on. I will read it as not type DH reads so guess the fairy was female. (I forgot we are not ...

Re: UK Newbie

Thanks for reminding me Mabel - what a glorious sight they will be when spring comes. Forgot it was virtual gardening, so much easier on the knees :)

Forgot it was coming up to bulb time - should have realised as chrysanthemums are in shops. I bought some today, always buy them for 2 or 3 weeks ...

Re: Some previous makes

Thank you so much for more lovely comments.

The 3rd picture is very bright & colourful, cheerful on a gloomy day. It is Dimensions Overlook Café & although small is intricate with various thickness of thread. Half stitches done from 1 strand to 4 strands of thread & some blends too.

Am doing ...

Thank you both. I would be glad to be able to help if I can, although I am not up to modern materials threads etc. but maybe I can help some time in the future, Sometimes old ways are an asset. Not that I am referring to myself of course, as I am not old, I've just happened to have lived longer time ...

Re: Some previous makes

Thank you.

I love the rhythm you get when doing long stitch, it is very relaxing. Hardest parts on this picture were top of birds head & the rings of water where the fish has jumped up. The main water section was almost hypnotic to do but when you need to unwind it is good as it soothes your brain ...

These are what I have kept. You may have seen them before as they were popular kits.

First picture is a kit my DS & BIL bought me a long time ago when they went on holiday down south. Think they went to Hampshire & Dorset.

2nd picture is a kit I originally stitched for my BIL as he likes fishing ...
