What a lovely design I have not seen these before, it reminds me a little of the Calico Crossroads designs, only more detailed. Looking forward to seeing some pictures
It is especially funy because I am doing this for my sister who is a pianist and has a black cat that loves to "play" the piano by walking across the keyboard. She is also a knitter, so the balls of yarn are a perfect touch. I showed the pattern to her husband and he just cracked up - said it must have been designed with her in mind!
OK, so I am FINALLY getting started on this one! Here is my progress so far:
I am stitching this over 2 on 32 count linen. Advice needed - the pattern calls for white stitching over the entire background but I am thinking of just leaving the fabric showing. Do you think this will still look OK? I think it will since the fabric is such a fine count.
I am sure it will look great! No way would I stitch the entire background.
Great start!

great start. Just had a look at the finished design, If I were stitching this picture I would leave any background un stitched too and it I think it might make the stitched areas stand out more which would look good.
As it's such a fine count fabric, I agree that it should look ok leaving the background unstitiched. But you can always change your mind once you've done the main design if it doesn'r look right.

With those colours i dont think i would do the background either. The colours will make the picture stand out and if you frame it with a matt etc i dont think you will miss the background stitching.Nice start by the way.
