Has anyone designed their own cross stitch?
I'm looking into designing my own cross stitch and have found somewhere that will print the charts and create a kit with threads etc.... and I was wondering if anyone else has done it before? I'm thinking off drawing my picture and adjusting it in photoshop.
Re: Has anyone designed their own cross stitch?
I think most people on here have designed their own charts at some point or another. Personally I kit them up myself as well as design them.

when you design (draw) a picture and change it into a chart using a program can it deal with backstitching i.e finer out lines .skitzzzzz wrote:yes ive done my own as i like to choose threads material etc never used outside source but i just use my own software take a look at my sal sweep hes finished now thats a chart i did of one of my dogs
I'm planning a picture called 'A Few of My Favorite things' and in the foreground I wanted a huge danelion. which I visualize as sitting on top of the background picture. so would you plan the picture without it and then add it later?
I'm need to sort out my scanner then I could show you more easily.
Re: Has anyone designed their own cross stitch?
well the software i use does backstitch 3/4, 1/4 half stitches etc can even add my own
i just import my picture into it and go from there alter pic through photoshop then just import finished picture
add changed as needed then stitches etc
just play with it
post a picture and ill do rough chart then you can see what i mean

I've designed a few things, but they were always small things.

thank you so much it's going to take me a few days to sort out the picture but it would be great if you would a rough chart for me to get the idea of how it works.
I keep on thinking of more things I want to add so I'd better get on with it.

I might try that to make a needle case as I want to make one but it would be nice to design my own.Angel wrote:I use Graph paper
