I actually first saw some very simple stitched braille cards quite a while ago (must be about a year ago now) - they were simply black French knots on red fabric - and I thought it was such a lovely idea, but I didn't fancy doing all those knots and fancied a tiny bit of a decorative border that wouldn't detract from the message, so I did it in beads with a backstitched border.
Happy Anniversary, Kell, and what a nice card! I've got a chart somewhere in my stash of a Good Luck and an I Love You card in braille but the dots are hearts or possibly (can't quite remember) tiny ladybirds. I may do the hearts one for DH for our fifth anniversary later this month thanks for reminding me of that design!
Wel, I totally lost my stitchy bug and haven't picked up a needle in almost 2 weeks, which feels disgraceful! Instead, I designed a couple of charts, so I don't feel like I've wasted too much time after all.
However, I'm now hoping my stitchy bug has returned., I don't have any more shifts at work this week and I'm hopeful that I'll get back into it all fromtomorrow. I'll be using my afternoons to stitch the 3 ATCs I need to do this month (which Xan has a nap) and the evenings will be devoted to the Taj Mahal sampler as I really want to get it finished and handed over.
Well, I managed to get about half my ATC stitched this afternoon and did a nice little section on the Taj Mahal thisevening. Not as much on either as I would have liked, but it's a start. I'm hoping my stitchy bug will come back in full tomorrow!
