2 colour x-stitches

Post by Diddle »

Hi this is my first time on the forum and I think it is excellent. Could you help me with the following.

I am doing a Popcorn Celebration Birth Sampler, and I am required to do the following:

All stitches are 1 thread only.

I have four stitches which use 2 colours:

example: Lilac (bottom 1/2 x-stitch) and Pale Lilac (top 1/2 x-stitch)

Can anyone explain how this is done? Even with a magnifying glass on the picture it is not clear.

Thanks.

:)

It sounds as if you just use the lilac to do the first /
then use the pale lilac to do the second \
you then end up with one complete cross, dark underneath, pale on the top.
I hope I am right :D

Sounds right to me, too (if a bit labour intensive...)

Hi Angela, I blend with my dimensions kits too, but when I looked at the instructions that Diddle had quoted it was clear the designer uses a different type of two colour technique, I do remember seeing that different way in another magazine. it gives a totally different look than blending, more two layered :D

I think the difference is that the current pattern we are talking about says to only use one thread when stitching so if you used 2 at the same time it would throw the pattern off.

Just my thought.
