Not seen this thread before! Lovely update! As I was reading through, I also wondered about the fabric - it looks very soft and tricky to work with: have you had any problems with it, or is it easier than it looks?
The colours are fabulous - love 'em! And your stitching is so neat. :applesauce: :applesauce: :D

The fabric is much harder than I thought it would be to work with. Although it's supposed to be an aida, it feels much more like a linen with bigger holes. It certainly isn't as even as any aida I've worked with previously, but fortunately being 18 ct, it hasn't been too bad for stitching on. Hasn't made me any keener though to try a proper linen.

Thank you Thank you for posting an update!!!!

I'm doing the exact same painting from SQ and am only 1/2 way through page one.

When I start getting worried that I made a mistake I sneak over and look at yours for assurance!!!

:applesauce: Great Update. You are making good progress. I would guess that tree has so much confetti because it looks wonderful. I love watching this one grow.

The tree looks awesome, very alive, and I can't imagine the amount of confetti you went through for that part.

Fabulous work :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce: It's really starting to take shape, and all that confetti gives it so much detail. I would really like to do a SQ but the thought of all that blending is a bit off-putting. However, now that I can see one 'in the flesh', the results certainly seem worth the effort. I may just give it a go and do their freebie rose to see how I get on. Thanks!!

The whole piece is confetti mad  Maybe next time I try a painting, I shouldn't dive in with one from the pointillist school  I don't think I've come across more than 20 stitches together of one blend.

SQs are really worth it. They're definitely BAPs but the blending really isn't too difficult to get used to and the results do justify it. Would encourage anyone to do one, though due warning that as with HAEDs, a few years to spare might be needed

Page 2 is finally complete! It slows down seriously every time I encounter an interesting bit of the picture, like a person as those bits are all even more solid confetti than the rest!

A picture of the page on its own
