Beautiful. Such a fantastic design, and so meaningful. I love the colour scheme.

well I am working on a daisy trivet I will post pictures later. My stitchy bug is back I am working on the trivet at home and stary night at work.
just a life update. DS is now 20 pounds at 6months of age, and we should be stopping the tube feeds in July. When we told the surgeon this he said that we could take his tube out then and follow up with him in August to see if the site needed to be surgically closed. So our little man should be TUBE FREE in august!!!!!
The surgeon finally admitted that DS shouldn't be here at all of the other apointments he has sort of skirted around the issue, but now that he is so close to this all being behind him. My DH asked him if it was normal for kids with this type of issue to weigh as much as he did, the surgeon sorta quickly said, with his issue he is lucky to be here in the first place. The surgeron was smiling and laughing at DS's weight gain, he was calling in the resident surgeon (who got to help on DS's surgery) just to show off...it was almost a proud papa grin across his face!@!
lol
i am so excited and proud of my little man. Thought I would share the great news!!!Should have some pictures up soon!!! of stitching that is!!

I'm so happy to hear your son is doing so well! Definitely a good sign if the MD is showing off how well DS is doing!

Re: MaeMae's stitching thread.
Been a while since I have posted anything on here.
Wow....
Let's see. Connor is feeding tube free!! He did have to have surgery to repair an incisional hernia...and close the G-tube stoma. He did great only one extra dose of pain med needed after recovery.
He follows up later today from this last surgery. We should only have one more GI visit just to be sure he is maintaing/gaining weight properly.
our biggest issue now is he is teething. he is getting two teeth in at the same time...and its...so hard for him. I hate giving him medicines and feel like i'm being a bad mom when I do...but everyone tells me it is worse not to give them when he is hurting.
He is saying mama...dada....hi....byebye and trying his best to crawl...he ususally gets lazy and just rolls where he wants to go...he loves his walker too chases the poor chihuhua around throwing his toys at him. LOL
We have his appointment with this surgeon and I can't sleep...I have a feeling this may be our last with him which is GREAT but..at the same time..it is a doctor that i TRUST sooooo much and we will be loosing that contact and that voice in my son's care...don't get me wrong I fully believe that if I have questions he will answer them..but still. I mean the man has called me back personally after I sent an email about questions when we first came home. He brags on DS to people everytime we bring him in and has said that DS is lucky to be here..I don't know if he is so...caring/mindful of all his patients or if it is because DSs situation is so rare. I messed up and googled info on the type of thing my son had...and it scared me...even now. They did a study for like 10 years and had 8 cases of what my son went through of those eight cases only one child survived.
He is our little miracle and now he has a clean bill of health not even needing his reflux meds anymore...now we get to worry about bumped heads skinned knees instead of tubes...weight gain....etc. It is bittersweet..I am so glad my son is healthy!! But so sad to see him already growing so fast so soon. He was 9months old today and it seems like yesterday I was in the hospital...anxiously uncomfortably awaiting his arrival.
Sorry to unload on you guys but just wanted to update you all...and hey I actually feel sleepy now...thanks for the talk

Re: MaeMae's stitching thread.
I'm glad you googled it afterward and not beforehand..
That definitely seems to put things into perspective doesn't it.. I'm glad that everything seems to be going so well for you and your family..

Let the future take care of itself -- you enjoy the here-and-now with your lovely son and family. And you've earned your parental wings, so I think you'll manage just fine flying "solo" without your trusted surgeon. (Who, BTW, sounds to be exactly the sort of individual we all hope our physicians will be!)
