Thanks guys, they each took a few months to complete.

I've got a chart for a highland cow I want to do, just waiting for the threads to be delivered

I can vouch for this...my stash, rotation and knowledge has taken a large growth spurt since I joined here. :lol:

And great projects you've done...they don't look like a beginner, you've done more than I have and I've been stitching for years. :roll:

lol yes they are all animals, I've been doing them for friends, so just choosing their favourite animal and doing it for them.

I am still stuck in the habit of starting in the centre, but I have read that many people start in the top left? Im scared of miscalculating and running out of room!

Wrt to the starting in the left hand corner, this is only an option. It comes from doing BAPs (big a** projects) like HAEDs and Mystic Stitches, any large design that completely covers the fabric; then if you start in the middle it gets confusing very fast. For smaller projects there is nothing wrong and it's usually quite sensible, to start in the middle :)
