Hi, Clare, and welcome to the forum. I'm sure you'll find it to be a friendly and helpful bunch of very nice folks. You have accomplished some beautiful work on a great variety of cross stitch pieces. Well done.
Hello and welcome to the forum from South Carolina! Great projects. I also love the tiger, but they are all very well done. You can't be that new to cross stitching.

lol yes they are all animals, I've been doing them for friends, so just choosing their favourite animal and doing it for them.
I am still stuck in the habit of starting in the centre, but I have read that many people start in the top left? Im scared of miscalculating and running out of room!
Wrt to the starting in the left hand corner, this is only an option. It comes from doing BAPs (big a** projects) like HAEDs and Mystic Stitches, any large design that completely covers the fabric; then if you start in the middle it gets confusing very fast. For smaller projects there is nothing wrong and it's usually quite sensible, to start in the middle
