Hello Everyone,
This is the first forum I have ever joined and I am so glad I found it and decided to join! I decided to try cross stitch as a method to relax at the end of the day before going to bed. Of course, I bought a huge kit, and since I didn't know what I was doing the first week was not very relaxing

. But then I found this forum and the Suggestions for Newbies thread, and I have learned so much. Thank goodness one of the posts I read said that the needles that come with kits tend to be lower quality. Last night my needle broke!

If I hadn't read that post I probably would have decided that cross stitch just wasn't for me, and I would have thrown the whole thing away. Instead, I went to the craft store and bought a pack of new needles. I also got some metallic thread so I can mark my grid (wow, that's gonna help) and masking tape to protect the edges.
I'm thinking I might actually finish, although it will probably by 2015
Really great meeting and getting to learn from all of you,
Desiree
