I have been lurking on this forum for awhile but haven't been brave enough to post till now. I've recently started stitching again after a long time and this project is the biggest I have ever done. I used the grid ding pen which I have used on a smaller design and which washed out beautifully on that piece. However on this piece, the lines faded over time but when I washed it, they suddenly reappeared in a different colour.
This is the piece I'm doing:
and this is the pen damage:

Wow so many responses so quickly, thats so nice of you all thank you:) - and thanks very much for the link - I've tried following instructions, can you see anything? I see the link but no picture.
That'll be it. If your stitching includes the background... you might get away with it.
BTW, I re-edited your post to show the photos. In photobucket, if you take the IMG code (just click on it) and paste it into your post, it should come up.
The pattern doesnt actually:( but I could just sew the blue back ground instead of leaving it blank - a real pain but it doesn't look that I have a choice. I'm quite worried - I used it on two other pieces and they seem fine - should I worry about the lines reappearing do you think?
Hi and Welcome from me and I am so glad you delurked and posted.
I often use a soluble pen and always wash in lukewarm water with a dash of dish washing liquid in it, to get rid of any grease/oil/sweat from me hands. The marks have always washed out.
I would try gently immersing your work in likewarm water with a dash of whatever brand of stain removal you use when you are washing clothes which need a bit of extra cleaning. If it doesn't work them maybe stitch some clouds or something over the most marked areas?
