Hi!
Hi everyone, my name is Christy and I am not only new to the forum but new to cross stitch. I'm going through a lot right now and my work hours are short so I have a lot of free time on my hands and wanted to take up a new hobby, in addition to my first love - reading, to take my mind off of things, and while browsing walmart for a new yet cheap hobby, I stumbled upon cross stitch patterns.
So I purchased the My First Stitch owl pattern and that is what I am working on. I also have a pattern of a kitten that my best friend bought for his teenage daughter but she didn't want it so he gave it to me.
I think I'm starting to get the hang of it. It took a moment, trying to thread the needle (I never stitched a day in my life before now), separating the thread strands, and learning it all, but I think I am getting it.
It's nice to meet you all!

Welcome from the West of Scotland!
Stitching is a great hobby -- creative, relaxing, just plain fun. Never be afraid to ask a question, if you can't already find an answer here on the forum. There's generally someone around. We love our newbies!

Re: Hi!
Greetings from Colorado and welcome to the forum. I'm glad you found us and cross stitching. I find it to be very relaxing and quite therapeutic. Poke around the forum topics and you'll learn a lot. And ask questions as they arise - there's almost always someone on and this a very friendly group. I hope you'll share pictures of your work - we really love pictures.

Welcome from Belgium.
It is admirable that you start from no sewing experience at all. Give a little time and you will find you can't live without it.
