First, I hope everyone is having a peaceful and thoughtful Memorial Day. I am thinking about all of the officers who went into battle to keep our country safe and free, and thanking them for their ultimate sacrifice.

My trip to my cousin's wedding was wonderful. I guess there is always a threat of drama at these things, but luckily everything went off without a hitch. I hope you won't mind that I'm sharing a picture of the happy couple.

Image

And I'm happy to report I was able to get two more days of the 12 Days of Christmas done during the trip. Now I am 2/3 done and feeling very confident I can complete and make it into a pillow in time for Christmas.

Image

In fact, today my goal is to wind a bobbin, thread the sewing machine, and hopefully sew a few scrap pieces of material and see if I can get straight lines.

Thanks for looking!
Desiree

Great update! I enjoy seeing pictures of events as well as stitching progress! It's nice to have a wedding without too much "drama"! Lovely couple.

I am sad to report that my stitchy bug left me for most of the week. On Sunday I made my first ever greeting card and I was very excited about how much more I would be able to get done.

Image

I got my July Flower of the Month, which was almost done, put it in my bag... and carried it back and forth to work every day, but never took it out! Not one stitch. Didn't feel motivated until Saturday. Even then I was more interested in watching the birds in the backyard than actually stitching. But I was able to finally finish it.

Thank you for looking! Please wish me luck finding my stitchy bug and holding on to her this week.

Didn't have time to post an update on my progress last week with my cousin in the hospital. She has Crohn's disease and needed another surgery to relieve a blockage caused by adhesions. She's doing great, but I do not know how people get better in the hospital, because you get no sleep! I was beyond exhausted by the time she was released after spending only the last two nights of her stay in the hospital with her. I did make some progress on my projects though.

I worked on the Faces of Joan Elliott SAL for a week. I haven't done any of the metallic threads... I'm leaving the backstitch to the end... and of course the beading is waiting for the end... but I'm still pleased with what I've got done so far.

Image

This last week I went back to the 12 Days of Christmas. I think I'm going to stick with this until it's done. Only three more days to go, and I've been getting a day done a week. And I really want to get it done. I seem to get this way at the end of a bigger project. Once I can actually see the end in sight, I need to finish.

Image

We'll see if I stick with this plan or not.

Thanks for looking!

Glad your cousin is on the mend. Hospitals are no fun at all. Great progress on your stitching. I especially love the 12 days one. It is on my list to stitch.

This week was not a good week for my stitching. The train was very crowded, work was crazy, and there were a ton of things that had to get done at home. I was hoping to get done with the Tenth Day, but didn't quite finish it. But I did make some progress, and progress is progress. I can still see a finish by the end of July, so I'm not too disappointed. Plus, I actually really like this day's design.

Wonderful progess! This is a wonderful bonus of a SAL thread is all the pictures show the progress even if it doesn't feel like it. Beautiful stitching.
