A little more progress on the Tulip. The bits on the sides (with the circles in them) should really be the same dark blue as the bottom bit of the tulip. but I've decided that would really make it very dark, so I've found an in-between shade which I'll use for that.
More or less decided that the thinnish black lines will be stem stitch, and the thick ones whipped chain.

That dark blue is so yummy and sets off that petal excellently. I agree though that too much of it would drown the other blues. A very pretty update indeed. :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce:

Two last-minute Christmas cards, both stitched after dinner last night and made into cards this morning :-)

Wow Mabel they are beautiful, simply beautiful.

You are a speedy stitcher to have stitched both last night, your needle must be red hot!

I love doing this wreath design of yours. Quick but satisfying to one's stitchy fingers.

They really are surprisingly quick to stitch. I've done one or two before, of course, :-) so that helps, but I don't think they took me more than an hour each including the beads and bows, so even if you've never done one before it should be doable in an evening.

Our first Embroidery Group meeting of the year last Monday (we meet on Mondays in term time only) and I took Llandrindod because a) I was temporarily sick and tired of the SAL trees :-) b) I really missed this little project and c) I needed something simple because of all the tea and chatting, and this was just filling in facets with split stitch.

Unfortunately I managed to fill in one of the facets in the wrong colour. AND because of the way I worked it the lines of stitching are inextrcably connected to two other facets. Unpicking may be a bit of a challenge...

(By the way, otherwise very happy with how it's turning out :-) )

Well, I can't tell where the mistake is, and so I think this is beautiful stitching! :applesauce: :applesauce:

If it's the red then I think it looks like the light is shining on the facet, just as it does in 'real life'

I was rather thinking of pretending I'd meant that all along :-)
But no, the mistake is the little blue facet which should have been stitched in light not medium blue. I'll work something out!

Oh yes, with split stitch it's definitely a snipping job - but because it's such a small segment I won't have a long enough ends to fasten off, so I'm going to have to do some creative thinking!

It is already beautiful with the deep colours. I really cannot see anything wrong...
I hope that you can fix it the way you really want it without too much of a problem, Mabel.

That is so beautiful. The colours are so rich and vibrant.

I hope you can work something out that you will be happy with, although it looks fabulous to me.
