baby's Christmas ornament pattern/source?
We have a new great-niece due the first part of December. I would like to make an ornament for her first Christmas. Not necessarily looking for a "Baby's First Christmas" type ornament but something small and cute that I could date on the back. I have patterns from "back in the day" but would like ...

Re: A tribute to my mom...lots of pics of her work
You mother's work is beautiful! You are so fortunate to have it, especially those WIP's. Are the needles in them the ones that she used or where you've begun working on them? No matter, how wonderful to be able to finish them for her. I stitch but my daughter hasn't shown any interest. It's great ...

Re: I have finally stitched
Your design is lovely! It clearly gives a great example of a design that they liked well enough to use for their wedding. A beautiful handmade gift made with love is always a favorite to receive. As for their date, I love it. As someone born on a Friday the 13th, I see the humor in it.

Re: stitching area question
thanks so much for the replies. I knew there should be a thread on here but didn't think to call it a stitch place :) I also like the idea of a box that closes for the tools so they can be put away easily. Your stitchy places are basically like mine. I just have to get "customized" for my comfort ...

Re: how did you start?
My grandmother was a seamstress/crafter. She taught me to embroider on stamped patterns and ones that she drew for me. She taught me to stitch and crochet. I found counted cross stitch about 35 years ago and loved it. Made lots of stuff, ornaments, baby announcements, etc. My kids came along and I ...
